PANCAKE BREAKFAST
CHURCH GARDEN
Our church serves a free Community Pancake Breakfast every Sunday from 8:00a - 9:00p. The breakfast consists of pancakes, sausage, eggs, cereal, fruit, and beverages. The meal is open to everyone and is served in our church gym.
We typically serve between 80-100 meals each week.
The breakfast is prepared and served entirely by church volunteers, and we could always use an extra hand.
Please contact Eve Faulkes, our volunteer coordinator -
Our Church Garden is now in its fifth year. The garden is located on the grounds of the church - in lieu of landscaping, we have a garden! The garden is managed by our Garden Team and we always need volunteers to manage and take care of the garden.
All produce grown is donated to the Community Kitchen and local Food Pantries. Last year we donated over 1,100 lbs of fresh produce to local hunger organizations!
FOOD PANTRIES
LLOYD'S CLOSET
We also regularly partner with the Pantry Plus More to provide space for their food distributions.
The last Sunday of each month is 'Red Wagon Sunday,' where you are encouraged to bring food donations to church. Our children collect the donations and a volunteer delivers them to various pantries the following day.
Our church helps keep the shelves stocked at many local food pantries. Each month we collect and deliver canned good and fresh produce to our three main food pantry partners:
Rock Forge Food Pantry
Canyon Food Pantry
St. Ursula Food Pantry
In September of 2020 we organized and launched the first permanent foster closet in Monongalia County - Lloyd's Closet. Lloyd's Closet serves foster children and families in Monongalia, Preston, and Marion counties with emergency needs - such as clothing, toiletries, school supplies, and baby furniture.
Lloyd's Closet is named in memory of Lloyd Slaughter,
whose estate gift to the church provided funding to start the closet.
We are currently full with donations - but check out our Facebook. Page for details and updates from Lloyd's Closet:

Appalachian Prison Book Project
Our Mission Committee
We partner with APBP to host book drives and book wrapping parties, providing incarcerated people with reading and learning materials to which they would not otherwise have access.
Stay tuned for our next book wrapping party this Fall!
Working behind the scenes to coordinate our mission/community work is our Mission Committee, composed of members and friends of the church. This committee leads the way in helping us serve our community in a variety of ways!
